In the following pages, the paper will present this prophecy of Celaeno and the Harpies, and also it discusses to what extent this prophecy issued by beings described as aggressive beings who strike terror in the heart was a factor that hindered Aeneas and his companions from continuing their journey. And how Celaeno's prophecy is nothing but a reaction to what Aeneas and his companions committed against the Harpies by expelling them and slaughtering their cattle. In addition, Celaeno attributed her prophecy to the chief of the gods to increase the fear and terror of the Trojans. It was Helenus's turn, the faithful guide, to Aeneas and his companions, to assure him that the prophecy of Celaeno was causing needless anxiety; and that he should continue on his journey and not heed her prophecy. As for Iulus, it was he who assured his father, Aeneas, at the end that Celaeno's prophecy was a joke and that they would eat their food and continue their journey in safety.
